It has been a wonderful month and a half of learning at GPA STEM Class! Thank you parents for your support and consideration as we navigated through some launching pains as we support our aviators board our brand new learning exploration aircraft! But we took off to a great start! Everyone in our GEMS crew are putting in all their effort into making this year's flight a successful one. As we take command of GPA's STEM learning experiences, we will be needing much of your support in getting us to our destination, our mission and vision... becoming the Gateway to Engineering, Math & Science!

CURRICULUM NIGHT!

Please join us on Thursday, September 10th, at 5:30 PM for Curriculum Night. Explore student work samples, know more about our 6th grade curriculum and class activities, as well as our field trip and camp opportunities, and learn about how you can help us help your child be successful at GPA this school year.

WEATHER OR NOT!

In the past month, we have learned a lot of things about the weather from layers of the atmosphere, cloud formations, water cycle and climate change (global warming). Your students should be able to tell you a lot about these topics as you sit with them listening to the weather channel... BTW, we had an awesome view of the dust storm followed by pouring rain through our window!

taste of stem

Our GEMS have a taste of STEM during our team building activity where they designed Barbie's Tower with our  Tower Power activity.

family homework

This weekend, we have a family homework which is part of our Social Science lesson: the Geologic Timeline. Here is the video clip that I am hoping every family could watch over the weekend and discuss some of the theories (Big Bang theory, Moon Formation theory, and  Evolution theory) covered by the video in the light of your family's own belief system (whether, cultural or religious perspective).

AVIATOR SPIRIT SOARS!

Thank you families for participating in the Spirit Week in August! It was such a huge success. I am so thrilled to have met some of you at the Chick-Fil-A Fundraising Night... you all are awesome! Another opportunity to show your aviator spirit this September @ Chipotle on Baseline & Signal Butte in September 9th! See you there!
